Learn the creative and meditative process of suminagashi marbling and create marbled cards and envelopes at Indigo & Violet Studio in Lakeview, Chicago. You’ll learn the basics of this inspiring process in this lightly guided experience. Suminagashi translates to “floating ink” and you’ll learn how to float delicate tendrils of colorful inks on the surface of water and create your own marbled designs.

In this artful experience, you’ll learn a short history of the suminagashi process, be led through a brief demonstration, then spend the rest of your time flowing with ink, paper, water, and breath, as you create your collection of marbled paper cards. All materials provided!
