about this workshop

Learn the art of suminagashi paper marbling! Led by Kelly Laughlin, artist, writer, and founder of Odette Press, and hosted at Fierst Studio, you'll learn the basics of this mesmerizing marbling process and find creative flow as you make your own marbled paper and sketchbook/journal.

Truly a meditative class, this process is simple, inspiring, and relaxing. Drop out of the busy week into a creative flow and explore suminagashi. No experience necessary.

We'll start with introductions to ground into the space and the process, then dive into a demo, and spend the rest of the time making mesmerizing marbled papers. You'll explore color, line, ink, and water, and leave with a collection of your own marbled designs.
