Build Your Journaling Practice at The Brooklyn Brainery | a three-part creative art and wellness series

  • Creative Alliance 3134 Eastern Avenue Baltimore, MD, 21224 United States (map)

In the third of three classes at The Brooklyn Brainery, you’ll learn grounding, expressive journal writing and explore techniques and benefits to starting a journaling practice now that you’ve marbled your covers and bound paper together to make your own books.

Why journal? Think of journaling as a clearing the clutter of the mind, a tilling of the soil: writing is an embodied experience that, when practiced regularly, helps us weed out and sift through all the things floating around in our squirrel-like minds in order to make space for our most radiant dreams to grow and thrive.

In this class, you’ll write, draw, breathe, reflect, and explore small, mindful movements.

The first and second classes in this experience are all about the power relaxing into the creative flow with the meditative process of suminagashi-style paper marbling, and creating a creative container for your thoughts and ideas using pamphlet stitch bookbinding.

All three classes explore the power and innate wisdom of creative practice, using art and mindfulness practices to help you become more focused and centered.

Class dates:

Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00PM

January 8 PAPER MARBLING
January 15 BOOKBINDING
January 22 JOURNALING
