ONLINE | Embodying the Artist: A Workshop on Caring for Your Expression

enroll here

Why is art important? How have we been taught to be disconnected from our art, creative selves, ideas, and our lives? Where and how does creativity live inside of us — in our bodies and our minds?

about this workshop:

Creativity is alive in all of us — it arrives, visits, and is expressed in a multitude of ways, and often needs to be tended to, felt, and nourished. Through a brief lecture, writing and drawing prompts, and embodid practies, we’ll explore the internal muse, connect to our inner creative landscapes, and tend to our creative expression by integrating experiences in body and mind.

Ground and enliven into creative flow and expression.

In this immersive, one hour online session you’ll explore:

Meditative breathing and gentle movements to nourish yourself and your creative life

Writing and drawing prompts for tending to your ideas: listening to your innate creativity

Restorative, gentle, seated poses and practices for building somatic connections.

This workshop includes:

TALK on stillness, movement and the role of both in creativity
MEDITATION + BREATHING on activation, regulation, and idea generation to ground into presence with our creative selves
GENTLE, RESTORATIVE MOVEMENTS for sustainable embodiment
PROMPTS to play with to center joy, delight, interest, pleasure
Q&A and CREATIVE CONVERSATION [in the live version]
