Learn the creative and meditative process of suminagashi marbling and create marbled designs on leather, silk, or paper at Indigo & Violet Studio in Lakeview, Chicago. You choose which surfaces you want to marble in the tickets, linked above.

You’ll learn the basics of Suminagashi, the ancient Japanese “floating ink” process, in this lightly guided experience.

In this artful experience, you’ll learn a short history of the suminagashi process, be led through a brief demonstration, then spend the rest of your time flowing with ink, paper, water, and breath, as you create marbled designs on paper plus other gift-friendly surfaces like coasters, keychains, silk bandanas, or cards and envelopes. All materials provided and this class is BYOB.
