Suminagashi, the ancient Japanese practice of paper marbling, translates to "floating ink" or "spilled ink." In this grounding workshop, explore the creative, meditative process of Suminagashi using breath, ink, and water to create designs on paper. Guided by artist Kelly Laughlin of Odette Press, you'll learn the history and process of Suminagashi and craft your collection of nature-inspired marbled papers. Connect to fluidity, ink, breath, creative practice, and the nature of the process.
You will get a folder of three different types of paper (around ten sheets) to make beautiful and unique handmade (by you!) marbled paper. Perfect for framing or gift-wrapping this holiday season.
