Calling book enthusiasts: learn how to adorn your notebooks’ spines with crossing lines of thread as you make a softcover notebook.

about this workshop:

In this hour-long class, we’re exploring French Link Stitch, a technique that shows off your sewing and ends with a notebook that lays flat.

We’ll work with awls, needles, bone folders, rulers, paper, and waxed thread to fold, measure, pierce the paper, sew signatures together to craft the final book form. If you’ve taken a bookbinding class before, bring your bookbinding kit. If not, all materials and tools will be provided.

You’ll walk away with: One softcover, multiple signature book with blank pages + notes on how to work with French Link Stitch at home.

Who is this for? Curious creatives and bookbinding beginners with some bookbinding or sewing experience, like Bookbinding for Beginners: Pamphlet Stitch (a great place to start your bookmaking practice) or Bookbinding: Casing In.
